Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Partition coefficient_EC method A.8: log Pow > 5.66.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
8
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The partition coefficient was estimated using the solubility in octanol and water. The procedure used was designed to be compatible with Method A.8 (Partition Coefficient) of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 (2008) and OECD Methods 107 (1995) and 117 (2004), respectively. The partition coefficient of the test item has been estimated to be greater than 4.55 x 10E5, corresonding to a logPow > 5.66.

Neither the shake-flask nor the HPLC method are applicable for the test substance, based on its chemical structure. The partition coefficient of the undissociated test substance would be expected to be significantly higher than the estimated results of > 5.66. Based on a prediction with KOWWINv1.68, the logPow is 10.04 and 18.23 taking into account the different chain lengths. For purpose of exposure assessment calculations, a logKow of 8.0 was taken into consideration, since this value represents the maximum valid logKow value in algorithm of the EUSES or EU-TGD approach.
