The NOAEL as derived from a 90 -day study in rats is 1000 mg/kg bw (Charles River 2016). This is an oral study. Route to route extrapolation is applied based on 10% oral and 10% dermal absorption (see toxicokinetic assessment).

Additional information - workers

In view of the low volatility and the high viscosity of the test substance, the inhalation route is expected irrelevant for exposure and no DNEL was derived. The systemic DNEL as derived in the 90-day study is expected to protect workers for short exposure duration as well as for not further identified long-term local effects.

The test substance is a skin sensitizer and protective measures will be taken based on classification and labelling. In addition a DNEL has been derived based on the EC3 from the LLNA test with an analogue substance.
