Additional information

The test substance is a viscous liquid. The composition of the test substance and the structure of the main components were evaluated and the test substance does not contain groups that might lead to ignition in contact with water and/or to the evolution of a flammable gas. Moreover the test substance was dissolved in water during the determination of the water solubility (Harlan, Water solubility 2013). Observations during this study demonstrate that the test substance does not ignite spontaneously in contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is liquid at ambient conditions. It is not pyrophoric and does not react with water forming flammable gases. The flash point determined by closed cup method was 222 °C and thus the substance is considered a non-flammable liquid according to CLP (Regulation EC No 1272/2008) as well as according to DSD (Directive 67/548/EEC). The substance is not used as aerosol.

The flash point of the test substance is > 60°C.
