Additional information

Although the maximum burning rate of the test mixture equalled the maximum burning rate of the reference mixture, it was found that when the test substance was mixed with Kieselguhr at the same concentration the combustion rate was significantly increased over that of the pure substance. The high surface area of the Kieselguhr (and the cellulose) was contributing to the propagation rate and therefore the test result was determined to be a false positive.
