Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the density of amides, C8-18 and C18-unsatd., N,N-bis(hydroxyethyl) according to ISO 758 using a pycnometer, Gay-Lussac type, conforming to the dimension given in ISO 3507. The water bath temperature was at 19.9ºC, the normal capacity was 25.073 cm3 and the solvent was hexene. The density of sample at 20ºC was 0.9819 g/mL, the relative density (20/20ºC) was 0.9848 g/mL and the relative density (20/4ºC) was 0.9820 mg/L. The accuracy was ± 0.0005.

The density was evaluated using a pycnometer, Gay-Lussac type, conforming to the dimensions given in ISO Method 3507 (Carrillo, 2009).
