Conclusions:
The flash point of amides, C8-18 (even numbered) and C18-unsatd., N-(hydroxyethyl) is 191 ± 0.2ºC at 101.3 kPa.
Executive summary:

A study was conducted to determine the flash point of structurally similar amides, C8-18 (even numbered) and C18-unsatd., N-(hydroxyethyl) in accordance with ISO 2719 and EU Method A.9 using standard Pensky-Martens closed cup method. The flash point of the substance amounted to 191ºC which indicates that amides, C12-18 (even numbered) and C18-unsatd., N-(hydroxyethyl) does not meet the criteria for classification as flammable according to EC (67/548/EEC) and CLP (EC 1272/2008) criteria.

The flash point was determined according to ISO Method 2719 and EU Method A.9 using a standard Pensky-Martens closed cup method (Carrillo, 2008).
