Description of key information

The toxicity of HDI Uretdion to algae (Desmodesmus subspicatus) was assessed performing a study according to the Directive 92/69/EEC, C.3. The nominal values showed 72 h-EL 50 values for the growth rate to be between > 50 mg/L and < 100 mg/L (BIS, 2000).
As the EC50 was not evaluated statistically, it was set to 50 mg/L as a worst-case assumption.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
50 mg/L

Additional information

The results of the TOC-determination reflect a rough impression only of exposure conditions over time. No information is available on a potential correlation between nominal concentrations and measured TOC concentrations.
