Biodegradation in water
The ready biodegradability of the test substance 3 -Formyltetrahydrofuran was tested in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 310 (BASF SE 27G0111/13G009, 2013). The results of this enhanced biodegradation study revealed a biodegradation degree of 88± 4% based on the CO2 production (headspace test) after a test duration of 28 days. Based on these data, the test substance is considered to be readily biodegradable.
