Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The melting temperature of Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Bottom Ash and Fluidized Bed Combustion (FBC) Fly Ash was determined by the Differential Scanning Calorimetry.
No endothermic peak corresponding to melting of the test substance was recorded in the tested temperature range from 35 to 640°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
640 °C

Additional information

FBC Ash is residues from the burning processes. The combustion takes place at temperature of 800 to appr. 950°C. It is expected that the melting temperature of FBC Ash will be above 800°C. This is confirmed by results of Differential Scanning Calorimetry.

Definite value of melting temperature of the test substance could not be determined in the tested temperature range from 35 to 640°C. The melting temperature of FBC Ash is above 640°C.
