Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The log Koc of isomaltulose greens is measured to be <1.25.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
1.25

Additional information

The adsorption coefficient of isomaltulose solution was determined using HPLC. Four reference substances were used. The log of the adsorption coefficient of the substance is <1.25 at 35 degrees C and a pH of 6.5. Because the experimentally determined log Koc is outside the range (1.5 to 5.0) for which the published guideline allows, the log Koc values were only determined for the reference substances and not for the isomaltulose solution. No further tests were performed.

Isomaltulose greens does not bind tightly to soil or sediments. It consists primarily of the disaccharides isomaltulose and trehalulose, along with other sugars. It is highly water soluble, readily biodegradable, and has a log Kow <-3.8 in addition to the low Koc of <1.25.
