Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The test substance is a complex reaction product composed of a large range of components. Some of them being inorganic, no biodegradation is expected for these ones. Only the biodegradation of methane was determined based on QSAR, no experimental assessment being feasible for the test substance. Indeed sampling of sufficient amounts of this gas is technically impossible at the single existing closed-loop sampling point (low volume/pressure/low flow rate). Modification for more efficient sampling would increase risks (extremely flammable gas hazardous by inhalation) and be incompatible with SCC status (closed-loop impossible with cylinders).

According to Biowin, methane is expected to be readily biodegradable.

Therefore, the test substance is expected to be readily biodegradable.
