Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Reaction mass of calcium fluoride, calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate is an inorganic salt and will dissociate in water at environmentally relevant pH to form calcium, fluoride, sulfate and carbonate ions. For inorganic substances, the extent of hydrolysis is driven by 1) water solubility and 2) the weakness of the corresponding acid. Hence, hydrolysis testing will not have additional added value. Sufficient information is available on the water solubility of the constituents and on pKa of the corresponding acids.

Additional information

A waiver is proposed for this endpoint: reaction mass of calcium fluoride, calcium sulfate and calcium carbonate is an inorganic salt and will dissociate in water at environmentally relevant pH to form calcium, fluoride, sulfate and carbonate ions.
