Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a gas
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

In accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII 7.11, the study does NOT need to be conducted if there are no chemical groups associated with explosive properties present in the molecule.
According to:
- Regulation (EC) N°1272/2008 (CLP) criteria and screening procedure (as listed in appendix 6 to the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - Manual of Tests and Criteria (6th revised edition, 2015),
- ECHA endpoint specific guidance on information requirements (R.7a, v5.0, December 2016, §R.7.1.11,
- Bretherick's Handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, Sixth Edition (1999), Volume 2, p128-131,
NO REACTIVE GROUP was identified in the chemical structures nor of the major constituents nor of the impurities.

Then the acceptance procedure for Class 1 explosives shall not apply, no further testing is required.

The chemical structures do not meet the screening procedure criteria, therefore the substance shall NOT be classified as explosive (CLP Annex I § 2.1.4.3.).
