Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Interpretation of results:
readily biodegradable
Conclusions:
n/i-undecanal is readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria (> 90% after 28 d; OECD 301F; Hoechst, 1991)
Executive summary:

The test material was tested for ready biodegradability according to OECD 301F. The inoculum was derived from a wwtp treating predominantely domestice sewage. The type of inoculum was not stated. After 7 d, the degradation was above the pass level of 60%. After 14 d the degradation was greater than 90%. Therefore the test material is assessed as readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria.

The test material contained 60% 2-methyldecanal, which is the branched isomer of n-undecanal, and 35% of the linear undecanal.

A detailed justification of read across is provided in the field Discussion of the endpoint summary of this section.
