Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with oxidising properties and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to REACH Annex VII column 2, the study does i.a. not need to be conducted if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure (e.g. organic substances not containing oxygen or halogen atoms and these elements are not chemically bonded to nitrogen or oxygen, or inorganic substances not containing oxygen or halogen atoms). Based on all available information on the Yucca plant itself, the analytical information and manufacturing process, the occurrence of those functional groups is not given, and so testing can be waived. Further, during handling of the substance, no observations at all were made that the substance is potentially oxidising.
