Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The PAAR DMA38 Digital Density Meter is calibrated with deionised water before each use, giving a direct reading of Density. The principle of measurement is that a sample is introduced into a measuring cell consisting of a U-shaped oscillator made of borosilicate glass. This measuring cell is electromagnetically excited to perform undamped oscillations. Since the volume of sample participating in the vibration is kept constant by the construction of the oscillator the period depends only on the sample density and the temperature of the sample tube.
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
oscillating densitimeter
