Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Molecular structure

The test substance does not contain chemical groups which are associated with explosive properties.Unknownimpurities at < 5% were not taken into account.

Oxygen balance

Theoxygen balance of the test substance was determined by the standard calculation.

A sulphur atom is equivalent to a carbon atom. The number of sulphur atoms was included to the number of carbon atoms.

The oxygen balance of the test substance was –169%, which is higher than –200%. The value is obtained due to the presence of twosodium sulfonategroups in themolecular structure of the test substance. These types of groups are notchemically instable or highly energetic. Based on this the test substance is consideredto pose no risk forexplodability.

Justification for classification or non-classification

This substance does not need to be classified for explosive properties.
