Conclusions:
2-Amino-5-chloro-N,3-dimethylbenzamide is good soluble in semi-polar solvents (DMF, DMSO) with a solubility of higher than 250 g/L. In aromatic (p-xylene) or halogenated solvents (dichloromethane) 2-amino-5-chloro-N,3-dimethylbenzamide only low solubility was found with 10 g/L or 33 - 40 g/L respectively.
Executive summary:

The solubility of 2 -Amino-5 -chloro-N,3 -dimethylbenzamide in several organic solvents is determined according to CIPAC MT 181 by adding successive measured volumes of solvent to a known mass of the test item until complete dissolution is observed. Solubility of 2 -amino-5 -chloro-N,3 -dimethylbenzamide was determind as followed:

  • p-xylene lower than 10 g/L.
  • dichloromethane between 33 g/L and 40 g/L.
  • methanol between 40 g/L and 50 g/L.
  • acetone between 160 g/L and 200 g/L.
  • ethyl acetate between 67 g/L and 80 g/L
  • dimethylformamide higher than 250 g/L.
  • dimethylsulfoxide higher than 250 g/L.

Description of key information

Solubility of 2 -amino-5 -chloro-N,3 -dimethylbenzamide in organic solvents was determined according to CIPAC 181 (1998).
