Description of key information

2-Amino-5-chloro-N,3-dimethylbenzamide is a at 20°C a odourless, beige solid. The substance is melting at 144,5 °C and is boiling at 310°C. The main particle size is between 37 and 710 µm. Relativ density was determined to 1.386 g/cm3 at 20.2 °C.

The partition coefficient log Pow(octanol/water) is 1.7 with a water solubility of 309 mg/L (pH =4), 274 mg/L (pH =7) and 264 mg/L (pH =9). The pH value of a 1% w/v solution is 6.4 in a low acidic range.

2-Amino-5-chloro-N,3-dimethylbenzamide is good soluble in semi-polar solvents (DMF, DMSO) with a solubility of higher than 250 g/L. In aromatic (p-xylene) or halogenated solvents (dichloromethane) 2-amino-5-chloro-N,3-dimethylbenzamide only low solubility was found with 10 g/L or 33 - 40 g/L respectively.

No self-ignition was detected up to 400°C and the substance did not show any explosiveness properties (friction, shock, thermal). Additionally no oxidising properties were found.
