Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For seven substances reliable studies (reliability category 1 or 2) are available with LC50 (96 h) values between 1.13 mg/L (C10 DMA; RL 1) and 0.18 mg/L (C18 DMA; RL 2). With the exception of C16-18 DMA (96h-LC50: 0.82 mg/L; RL1), with increasing chain length decreasing LC50 values are observed

Additional information

There is no experimental data on acute toxicity for the registration substance N,N-dimethyl-C12-16-(even numbered)-alkyl-1-amines, lactates. The acute toxicity of the registration substance is derived from the available data of dimethyl alkylamines (DMAs) with comparable length of alkyl chain (source substances).

For the endpoints short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates and toxicity to aquatic algae data from dimethyl alkyl amines (DMA) with different chain lengths are used. Short-term toxicity to fish data based on the same DMAs shows, that fish is not the most sensitive species.
