Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Key result
Remarks on result:
no self-ignition observed up to the melting point

Any other information on results incl. tables

A clear exothermic effect of the test item was observed when approaching an oven temperature of 400°C. More specifically, the temperature of the test item reached 400°C at an oven temperature of 392°C. However, at the melting point (224.9°C) of the test item, the test item temperature was still similar to that of the oven temperature. Therefore, the test item can be concluded to be not autoflammable up to the melting point.

After the experiment, the test item had turned into a black, expanded residue and was collected in a container that was placed below the cube. It indicated that the test item had been molten, decomposed and/or reacted during the experiment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Based on the results of the EC A.16 test, the test item can be concluded to be not autoflammable up to the melting point.
