First-aid measures

Self-protection of the first aider: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. It may be dangerous to the person providing aid to give mouth-to mouth resuscitation. Use personal protective equipment as required. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, avoid direct contact. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

If inhaled: If inhaled and breathing is difficult, remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.

In case of skin contact: Wash off with soap and plenty of water.

In case of eye contact: Immediately flush eye(s) with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.

If swallowed: Unlikely to be hazardous if swallowed. Rinse mouth. If large quantities are ingested or symptoms develop, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Substance is not flammable/combustible. Use extinguishing media that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Direct water jet may spread the fire.

Specific hazards during firefighting: Direct water jet may spread the fire. Decomposes in a fire giving off toxic fumes: Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide.

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Special protective equipment for firefighters: Fight fire with normal precautions from a reasonable distance. Fire fighters should wear complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Avoid release to the environment.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions: Caution - spillages may be slippery. Do not walk through spilled material. Ensure suitable personal protection during removal of spillages. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental precautions: Prevent uncontrolled releases to sewers, drains or other watercourses.

Methods for cleaning up: Shut off leaks. Contain and absorb spillage in inert material and shovel up. Ensure contaminated surfaces are cleaned. Dispose of this material and its container to authorised waste collection point.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling: Ensure operatives are trained to minimise exposures. Ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not ingest. Wear appropriate protection equipment. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store in original container. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight. Stable under recommended storage conditions.
