key study
Study period:
19/12/2011
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: No guideline followed
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
reference to same study
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
DSC Equipment:
Mettler Toledo AG - DSC823e
Conditions:
Sample weight: ~11mg
Start temp: 35.0°C
Rate: 10.0°C/minute
Gas: N2

Melting point: Equipment: SRS OptiMelt MPA100
Conditions: Start temp: 40.0°C; Stop temp: 65.0°C; Rate: 1.0°C/minute
Differential scanning calorimeter: Mettler Toledo AG - DSC823e
Conditions: Sample weight: ~11mg; Start temp: 35.0°C; Rate: 10.0°C/minute; Gas: N2
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
thermal analysis
Remarks:
Differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and optical melting determination
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= 46 - <= 74 °C
Atm. press.:
1 atm
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no
Remarks on result:
other: The thermogram shows a endothermic phase transition from solid to liquid (lined peak)
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= 50 - <= 57.2 °C
Atm. press.:
1 atm
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no

DSC determination: The full thermogram view is difficult for interpretation so an enlargement of the segment between 46-74oC was performed. A endothermic phase transition from solid to liquid (lined peak related to the Melting Range. Melting Range:52.5-68.5oC.

The thermogram shows a endothermic phase transition from solid to liquid (lined peak).

Onset result is more specifically related to the physically change -Melting Point since it is not influenced by sample size and scan rate.

Onset: 53.63°C

Max Peak: 60.77°C

Optical Melting determination: Range: 50.2 -57.2°C. Point: 52.4 °C

Conclusions:
The thermogram shows a endothermic phase transition from solid to liquid (lined peak related to the Melting Range).
Melting Range:52.5-68.50C and Max Peak: 60.77°C
