Approximately 0.14 gram of the test substance was plased in a 10 ml volumetric and brough up to volume with methanol. Acalibration curve using structurally related reference compounds with known Log koc was established. The test substance and reference compounds with known Log Koc values were injected into an HPLC system. A calibration cruve using retention time (Log t) verses Log koc was calculated by linear regression analysis from the injection data of the reference compounds. The calibration was calculated from the literature values for the Log koc for the reference compoundsand the corresponding capacity factor. From the calibration cruve the unknown Log Koc of the test substance was estimated by retention observed under similar HPLC operational conditions.
