- In accordance with column 2 of REACH annex IX, long-term toxicity testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the effects on sediment organisms. The choice of the appropriate test(s) depends on the results of the chemical safety assessment.
The substance already screens as Acute and Chronic Toxicity Category 1. Furthermore, it should be noted that the substance is manufactured only for the “export only” market, and is not used within the EU. Process measures are utilised within the site of manufacture that mitigate any exposure concerns to man or the environment. The substance is not released and is not available for exposure. Therefore, further investigation of sediment effects is not required.
