Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A read across approach was used to assess the ready biodegradability of the test material based on the OECD 301F test results for tripropylene glycol n-butyl ether and SYNALOX* 100-50B (dipropylene glycol n-butylether initiated alkoxylate, Mw = 1375).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The test material tripropylene glycol butyl ether highers is readily biodegradable based on a read across approach. Both tripropylene glycol n-butyl ether and SYNALOX* 100-50B have a similar chemical structure and bracket the molecular weight range for the test material. Since both of these materials are readily biodegradable, it can be concluded that tripropylene glycol butyl ether highers will also be readily biodegradable.
