Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the victim from exposure into fresh air immediately.
If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing
is difficult, give oxygen. Seek medical advice if cough or
other symptoms appear or when vapors are intensively
inhaled.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately wash eyes with plenty of running water for at
least 15 minutes, occasionally lifting the upper and lower
eyelids. Seek medical advice if irritation develops and
persists.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected skin area with plenty of water and soap for at
least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and
shoes. Seek medical advice if irritation develops and
persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice immediately. Do not induce vomiting
(risk of aspiration).

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, AFF, dry powder, carbon dioxide.

Product arising from burning: On burning, this material will generate toxic gases such as
mono- and dioxides of carbon (COx)

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In the event of fire, wear a self-contained breathing
apparatus and a chemical protective suit.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Dike flow of spilled material using soil or sandbags to
minimize contamination of drains, surface and ground waters.

Pick up with absorbent material (sand, earth, kieselguhr,
acid binder, universal binder, sawdust, soda ash,
vermiculite, slaked lime). Sweep up absorbed substance,
place in a solid waste container for later disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling: Provide good ventilation (local exhaust) of the working
area, safety showers and eye wash station near the
workplace. Avoid release to the environment. Wear personal
protective equipment. When using a GTBE mixture with
(bio)diesel; keep away from heat, sparks, flame and other
sources of ignition. Use earthed equipment.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, dry, well-
ventilated place. Store under a nitrogen blanket.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Ship or truckloads. No other packaging.
