Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- General advice: First Aid responders should pay attention to self-protection and use the recommended protective clothing (chemical resistant gloves, splash protection)
- Eye contact: Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 min.
- Skin contact: Remove residues with soap and water. Remove contaminated
clothing.
- Inhalation: Move person to fresh air; if effects occur consult a physician.
- Ingestion: Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Fire-fighting measures

- Extinguishing agent: Water fog or fine spray.
- In case of fire can be released: Nitrogen oxides, sulphur oxides, Carbon oxides, hydrogen cyanide
- Protective equipment: Positive pressure, self-contained breathing apparatus and protective fire-fighting clothing (includes fire fighting helmet, coat, trousers, boots and gloves).
-Further information: Do not use direct water stream. Straight or direct water streams may not be effective to extinguish fire.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Ensure sufficient ventilation/exhaust ventilation. Keep uninvolved persons away. In addition, the personal protective equipment mentioned there must be used.
- Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains or aquatic environments.
- Methods for cleaning up: Take up the spillage mechanically, if necessary, dam in or take up beforehand using absorbent material, e.g., sawdust or sand. Material that is taken up should be sealed in closable, properly labelled containers. Dispose according to the local official regulations

Handling and storage

- Safe handling advices: All working methods must always be designed so that inhalation of the substance is excluded and exposure by skin contact is minimized. Eye contact with the substance should be avoided. Closed equipment should be used during filling, transfer and metered feeding as well as during sampling. In the case of handling in open systems, any dust that can form must be extracted directly at the point of origin. If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not possible or are insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn. To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves and, if applicable, suitable protective clothing must be worn. The wearing of safe eye protection is recommended. Adequate washing facilities should be available in the immediate vicinity of the work area. After skin contact, the affected parts of the skin should be cleaned thoroughly using. Contaminated clothing must be changed immediately. Special skin-protection and skin-care measures are recommended. A skin-protection plan should be drawn up. Do not eat, drink or smoke in working area. - Advices for storage: For the storage the original packaging drums or other unbreakable and correctly labelled containers are to be used. Keep containers tightly closed, dry, avoid moisture and secure by suitable measures against falling down. Avoid product residues on the packing drums. - Measures to prevent fire and explosions: Keep away from sources of ignition. Not smoking

Stability and reactivity

- Danger other than fire: None known. - Chemical reaction with water: None known. The notified substance reacts slowly with water and atmospheric humidity to form a chemically-inert solid polymeric material, which is typical for isocyanates. - Dust explosion: Notified substance is a solid block. The substance is manufactured in a solvent system and not isolated.

Disposal considerations

Industry
- Substance: non applicable
- Preparation: no waste expected
- Packaging: The packaging sizes are designed to limit residues. The residue of the formulated primer in the packages will cure/polymerize naturally in contact with atmospheric humidity converting it into an inert solid material
