Description of key information

An acute toxicity test (96 hours semi-static) using the juvenile Cyprinodon variegatus has been performed on the test substance YBY-ARJ-043\\U136 in accordance with guidelines given in PARCOM 1995 Part B (modified OECD Guideline 203 "Fish, acute toxicity test") and described in AnalyCen Ecotox SOP Lab IIA 1.8.
The acute toxicity of the test material to the freshwater fish common carp (Cyprinus carpio) has been investigated and gave a 96-Hour LC50 value of 7.5 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 5.6 - 10 mg/l. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 5.6 mg/l.
Based on the time-weighted mean measured test concentrations of the test media the acute toxicity of the test material to common carp gave a 96-Hour LC50 value of 5.4 mg/l with 95% confidence limits of 3.3 - 8.9 mg/l. The No Observed Effect Concentration was 3.3 mg/l.
The 96 hour LCso value for the test substance YBY-ARJ-043\\U136 was found to be 8.6 mg/l.
In this test, the control parameters temperature, DO and salinity were within the recommended ranges. Based on this the test substance YBY-ARJ-043\\U136 can be classified as toxic according to the EEC classification system.
NOEC-value: 2 mg/l
