Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove subject to fresh air. Seek immediate medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Irrigate with running water and seek medical attention
immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with running water and seek medical attention
immediately.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water provided the person is conscious.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconcious person. Seek
immediate medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder and water.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes (e.g. carbon oxides).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn in the event of a fire.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, conforming
to the relevant national or international standards.

Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (e.g. sand
or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste
containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.
Containers filled with the waste material must be labelled
in the same way as the original containers.

Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: The neat substance should be stored, handled and used in
conditions of good industrial hygiene, and in conformity
with local regulations in order to minimise exposure.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
neat substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled,
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows:

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN 368

Eye protection to Standard EN166

The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a minimu
m.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, in the dark.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is contained within plastic ink cartridges
when imported into the EU.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None reported

Chemical reaction with water: The epoxy ring is partially opened:

1% in 1 day at 25 Deg C

22% in 28 days at 25 Deg C

Dust explosion: Not applicable as the substance is a liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and as such, waste
material should be disposed of by the appropriate methods.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers, empty cartridges, spillages of
solutions and printed media may be disposed of by landfill
at an authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Contaminated items containing the substance can be disposed
of by incineration by burning under controlled conditions at
a licenced waste treatment processor in accordance with
local regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed, as
noxious gases (e.g. carbon oxides) could be formed.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Plastic cartridges containing waste ink can be disposed of
(as chemical waste) by incineration.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery/recycling of the substance for reuse is not
economically feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
