Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial

respiration, then call for medical help. If breathing is

difficult, give oxygen, then call for medical help.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes for 15 minutes with water. If

irritation develops, get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash skin with soap and

water. If irritation develops, get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: If conscious, give water to drink but do not induce

vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious

person. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: For small fires, use carbon dioxide or dry chemical. For

large fires, use water spray or alcohol-type aqueous film-

forming foam (AFFF).

Product arising from burning: Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.

Hazardous polymerization will not occur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and complete

personal equipment when exposed to products of combustion.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Avoid eye or skin contact. Eliminate ignition sources. All

clean up and disposal should be carried out in accordance

with local, State and Federal regulations. Consult with

Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies to determine

acceptable clean-up levels.

If material becomes dry, wet or dampen before removal. Use

wet cloth/mop to pick up and place in suitable container for

disposal. Do not dry sweep as this causes dusting.

For personal protection see section 2.3.00.

Disposal methods:

Spent or discarded material may be a hazardous waste.

As a hazardous liquid waste, it must be disposed of in

accordance with National and EU laws, directives and

regulations in a permitted hazardous waste treatment,

storage and disposal facility by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle with extreme caution. Avoid breathing dust. Avoid eye

and skin exposure. Prevent the build-up of dust. Whenever

dusts can develop, use non sparking tools and eliminate all

ignition sources. Wear chemical resistant gloves. Utilize

protective equipment to minimize all exposure. Handle

compound in a laboratory fume hood wgenever possible. When

transfering, follow proper grounding procedures. Wash

thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Work clothes

should be laundered daily.

Engineering controls:

Ventilation:

local exhaust: Recommended when appropriate to control

employee exposure.

Mechanical (general): Not recommended as the sole means of

controlling employee expure.

Personal protection:

Respiratory protection:

Use NIOSH-approved respirator within the limitations of the

equipment or use a self-contained breathing apparatus

(SCBA).

Protective clothing:

Use chemical resistant gloves. Check gloves for leaks before

use.

Eye/face protection: Wear safety glasses with side shields

or chemical safety goggles.

Other protective equipment: For operations where spills may

occur, use chemical resistant gloves and clothing. A safety

shower and an eye bath should be abailable.

Storage: Keep in a cool, dry, well ventilated place.

Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.

Keep in original tightly closed containers when not in use.

Use with adequate ventilation.

Do not enter staorage area that is not adequately ventilated

.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1 gallon (3.8 liter) NOWPAK (is constructed of a rugged,

non-pressurized, high-density polyethylene outer shell with

a single-use, collapsible inner liner)
