Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Bring affected person outside and ensure that he/she is
comfortable.

Seek medical advice immediately.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the
eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.

See an eye specialist immediately.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove and wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

Wash off with plenty of water and soap immediately, seek
medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Only when patient fully conscious:

Have the mouth rinsed with water.

Do not induce vomiting without medical advice.

Seek medical advice immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder

Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, hydrogen fluoride

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing
apparatus. Wear personal protective equipment.

Keep unauthorised persons away.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Keep unauthorised persons away.

Pick up mechanically and collect in a suitable container.
Avoid formation of dust (e. g. by wetting with water or by
using an approved industrial vacuum cleaner).

Waste to be packed like clean product and to be labelled.
Identification label on packages not to be removed until
recycling.

Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the polluted
area avoid skin and eye contact as well as inhalation of
the substance e. g. by wearing appropriate personal
protective equipment (see section "Handling").

Prevent substance from entering soil, natural bodies of
water and sewer systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety
practice.

The personal protective equipment used must meet the
requirements of directive 89/686/EEC and amendments (CE
certification).

Hygiene measures:

No eating, drinking, smoking, or snuffing tobacco at work.
Wash face and/or hands before break and end of work.

Contact with skin, eyes and clothes must be strictly
avoided.

Take off clothing and shoes contaminated with product. Clean
before reuse.

Engineering measures:

Work only in fume cupboard.

Provide sufficient ventilation and exhaust at the workplace.

Avoid production of dust. Do not breathe dust.

Personal protection:

Respiratory protection:

In case of dusts/vapours/aerosols being formed or if the
limit values like TLV are exceeded:

Respirator with ABEK-P2 combination filter.

Hand protection:

Glove material: Nitrile, for example: MAPA Ultranitril

Material thickness: 0.45 mm

Method: DIN EN 374

Skin and body protection:

Chemical protection suit, single-use protection suit
(antistatic).

Eye protection:

goggles

Storage: Store the substance at room temperature in the original
container.

Keep them tightly closed and secure them against falling by
taking the appropriate measures.

Avoid residues on the outside of the containers.

Protect from sunlight, warmth and heat.

Keep away from flames/sparks; no smoking.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Materials to avoid: strong oxidizing agents

Chemical reaction with water: None

Dust explosion: Hazardous reactions: with attrition of dust-like particles,
there is danger of dust explosion.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Because the substance is used as an intermediate for
pharmaceutical active ingredients, residues or spilled
substance are not allowed to be collected and reused.
Spilled substances or residues have to be absorbed and given
to combustion.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Neutralisation with aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate
solution.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Controlled disposal through combustion possible and
recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not relevant (the substance is not sold to the public at
large).
