First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from source of exposure. If signs of toxicity occur,

seek medical attention. Provide symptomatic/supportive care

as necessary.

of water. If irritation persists or signs of toxicity occur,

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for the underlying cause of the fire.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in

a fire, evolving noxious fumes (e.g. carbon and nitrogen

oxides).

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Methods of Cleaning and Collection:

Recover product. Place into appropriate container for

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations.

Personal Precautions:

Wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment to

prevent skin and eye contact, such as those mentioned in

section 2.3.00.

Keep away from drains.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used under

conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with

any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Engineering controls (local exhaust ventilation) are

necessary to reduce exposure to the substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN420 or EN374.

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN1149, EN530,

EN468.

Eye protection to Standard EN166.

Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be

used, it must be capable of adequately controlling

exposure, be suitable for the purpose, and conform to the

appropriate international or national standards.

Eye douches will be made available in the immediate vicinity

of the work area and their location should be indicated

conspicuously.

These measures should be regarded as a minimum.

Storage: Avoid excessive storage temperature. Avoid exposure to

direct ultraviolet light.

Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Packaged in steel drums, with a net weight of 50 kg.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not

economically or technically feasible, and such waste

material will be disposed of by incineration. In principle,

it may be possible to recover larger spillages of

uncontaminated material for subsequent use.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The VIIB notification tests have shown that the substance is

a skin sensitiser. No chemical treatment is practicable to

neutralise the hazardous health properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and

nitrogen oxides) could be formed.

to the sewage system or the aqueous environment.
