Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The toxicity of 2 -Hexyl-2 '-hydroxy-5 'methyldecananilide (AF-654) to aquatic microorganisms was investigated by Desmares-Koopmans (2004). The GLP-study was conducted according to OECD 209 and EEC Directive 67/548. Activated sludge collected from a domestic sewage treatment plant was exposed to a test concentrations of 100 mg/L in a limit test over 30 min. A positive control (3,5-dichlorophenol) was used in order to validate the test conditions. On the basis of respiration rate the effect concentrations were determined by measuring O2 consumption. No adverse effects could be observed at the end of the exposure period. Therefore, NOEC and EC50 values could not be calculated, but the NOEC was considered to be >= 100 mg/L (nominal) and the EC50 was considered to be > 100 mg/L (nominal).
