Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
In conclusion, the surface tension of ucb 22060 in water (at a concentration of about 0.1 %)
was determined to be
72.8 mN/m at 20.5°C t 0.5°C.
Executive summary:

The determination of the surface tension of an aqueous solution of ucb 22060 was based on the OECD Guideline No. 115: “Surface Tension of Aqueous Solutions” (1995) and on the EEC Directive 92/69, Part A, Methods for the determination of physico-chemical properties, A.5 “Surface tension”, EEC Publication No. L383, December 1992. The calibration factor $t)was determined to be 1.0314 for double distilled water (Table 1). The data are part of RCC’S instruments’ files and a copy is presented in the raw data of the present study. Table 2 shows the individual measurements for the surface tension of the aqueous test item solution. From these, the mean and the corrected value for the given solution were calculated and shown in the same table. The tabulated values represent rounded results obtained from calculation using the exact raw data. In conclusion, the surface tension of ucb 22060 in water (at a concentration of about 0.1 %) was determined to be 72.8 mN/m at 20.5°C t 0.5°C. Based on the criteria as outlined in the EEC Guideline, ucb 22060 is not a surface active substance.
