Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move the patient to fresh air. Give artificial respiration
or oxygen only if breathing is difficult. Seek immediate
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush the eye immediately with plenty of water, and continue
this for 10 minutes. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove any contaminated clothing and wash the affected skin
area with water. Obtain medical attention if irritation
occurs and persists.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth thoroughly with water if the patient is
conscious (give nothing by mouth to an unconscious person).
Do not induce vomitting. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: carbon dioxide, dry chemical, foam, water

Product arising from burning: oxides of carbon and sulphur, and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protection by suitable clothing and positive pressure
breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear recommended personal protection (gloves, overalls, dust
protection mask and goggles. Isolate the spillage area,
sweep up spilled material and place in correctly labelled
containers. Take precautions to minimise dust generation.

Handling and storage

Handling: Protective clothing, goggles or safety glasses and
impervious gloves should be worn when working with the
material. In work areas not under LEV or when working with
non-granulated material, respiratory protection should be
worn.

Storage: Stored in suitably labelled and sealed rigid containers in a
cool dry place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance will be packaged in rigid fibre drums, lined
with double polyethylene bags.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: none reported

Chemical reaction with water: Predicted to undergo slow hydrolysis, promoted by high or
low pH. Not a vigorous reaction.

Dust explosion: hazard not expected for granulated solid form. For
substance in finer, particulate form, usual precautions
against dust ignition should be taken.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The intended use of the new substance depends on its
hydrolytic degradation; no significant quantities of
undegraded material will remain after use and thus recovery
or recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: not applicable

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal of solid material in authorised landfill sites is
acceptable. Relevant local, national and EU regulations
must be respected.

Liquid wastes arising from the use of the new substance will
contain hydrolysis products at high dilution rather than the
parent material.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Mix with other combustibles and incinerate.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: No special treatment of aqueous wastes is proposed (see
earlier sections).

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: No recycling or recovery procedures are considered practical
or necessary.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: not applicable

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Aqueous wastes arising from normal, intended uses are likely
to be disposed of into domestic wastewater drains.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: No special treatment required.
