Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The partition coefficient n-octanol/water (log Pow) of ITC 826 Concentrate was determined according to the EEC Directive 92/69, part A.8, to the OECD Guidelines 107 (GLP).
The partition coefficient of ITC 826 Concentrate was estimated to be = -1.70 using the ratio of the solubility data in n-octanol and in water.
Based on this result, ITC 826 Concentrate is considered to have a low potential of bioaccumulation.

Additional information

It is proposed to use this data for the assessment of the bioaccumulation potential for Perform STi. The main assumption to justify the read-across approach is that both substances have a similar chemical structure.

Both substances are Perform STi, one being a Tetrakis-hydroxymethylphosphonium chloride (THPC), urea and 1-tetradecylamine (C14 amine), and the second one being a ITC 826 (i.e. Tetrakis-hydroxymethylphosphonium chloride (THPC), urea and 1-tetradecylamine (C16 – C18 amine).

Therefore, both substances have the same functional groups in their chemical structure, and the addition of an alkyl (ethyl to butyl) for ITC 826 Concentrate compared to Perform STi is not expected to have a significant impact on the biological and physico-chemical properties of the substance.

In conclusion, based on the LogKow measured for ITC 826 Concentrate, the registered reaction product is not expected to have bioaccumulation potential.
