Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If symptoms are apparent, seek medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with clean water for at least 15 minutes,
keeping the eyelids open. If irritation persists, seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with
plenty of water. Seek medical attention if reaction occurs.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth and induce vomiting (BUT do not induce vomiting
or give anything by mouth to an unconscious person). Seek
medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, water spray.

Product arising from burning: Oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protection by suitable clothing and positive pressure
breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, including adequate
respiratory equipment in the presence of dust. Damp down
dry material, collect and transfer to suitable containers
for disposal by incineration or landfill. If necessary,
wash down contaminated areas with plenty of water, using
containment to avoid washings reaching drains or surface
water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure sufficient ventilation/exhaust at the work place.
Protective overalls, antidust mask, safety goggles and
rubber or other synthetic gloves should be worn when working
with the material. Where dust generation may occur,
appropriate particle masks should also be worn.

Storage: Store in sealed containers or bags within a cool,
well-ventilated area. Equipment should be connected to
earth. Avoid static discharges.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealed, unbreakable containers or bags.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None known.

Chemical reaction with water: None known.

Dust explosion: If a locally high concentration of dust is created,
explosion is possible (as with many organic materials). The
flaky or granular nature of the commercial product will
limit dust generation, but atmospheric control to reduce
dust concentrations, and avoidance of ignition sources, are
recommended.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
