Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move subject to fresh air.  Seek medical attention if

unusual symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash eyes with water for at least 15 minutes.  Seek

immediate medical attention

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash exposed area with soap and water.  Remove any

contaminated clothing and obtain medical attention if

unusual symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon monoxide, dry foam or water

Product arising from burning: Anticipated to contain oxides of carbon and nitrogen,

together with fluorine.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

Wear appropriate personal protective clothing.

Spillages of solid material should be removed by vacuuming,

transferred to suitable solid waste containers for disposal

by incineration.

Spillages of the substance in solution should be absorbed

onto inert material such as sand or soil, and transfer to

suitable waste containers for disposal by incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Workers handling the substance should wear appropriate

personal protective equipment (impervious gloves, safety

glasses, lab coat, boots).  If dust concentrations are

greater than 5 mg/m3 an appropriate dust respirator should

be used.  Wash hands and arms thoroughly after handling

material.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated room away from sources

of ignition.

Kegs are stored at ambient temperature on pallets which are

held in racking.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Hard cardboard, double lined, 30 kg kegs

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not economically or technically feasible to recover for

recycling.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None reported.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: [Code 660]

Preferred method of disposal. Flue gas scrubbing is

recommended as the substance contains a halogen and

nitrogen.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None reported.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, as the substance as notified will not enter

the public domain
