Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove casualty to fresh air. If not breathing, give

artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give

oxygen. seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Check for and remove any contact lenses. In case of contact,

immediately flush eyes with running cold water for at least

15 minutes. Seek medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Skin: In case of contact with skin, wash off immediately with

plenty of cold water for at least 15 minutes while removing

contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash clothing before

re-use. Thoroughly clean shoes before re-use. Seek medical

attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical

personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious

person. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or

waistband and seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: For small fires, use dry chemical powder. For larger fires,

use water spray, fog or foam. Do not use water jet.

Product arising from burning: Combustion products are nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2) and carbon

oxides (CO, CO2).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Fire fighters should wear full contained breathing apparatus

and protective clothing.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Always wear the recommended personal protective equipment.

Eliminate sources of ignition and strong acids. Provide

ventilation to appropriate area. Absorb with inert absorbent

and place in a closed, appropriately labelled waste

container. Contain area and dilute with water and mop up

spill. If necessary, neutralise with a dilute solution of

acetic acid.

Handling and storage

Handling: Always wear recommended personal protective equipment (full

protective overalls, butyl rubber or neoprene gloves, rubber

footwear, face shield and half mask respirator (BS2091)

fitted with an Ammonia/methylamine cartridge (filter K)).

Use local exhaust ventilation.

Storage: Store in a cool, well ventilated place, away from acids or

other strong oxidising agents. Keep away from sources of

ignition. Keep containers upright and in tightly sealed

appropriately labelled containers. Protect from physical

damage.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 215 litre steel drum (no liner present).

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Reacts violently with acids. Hazardous polymerisation does

not occur.

Chemical reaction with water: No chemical reaction with water.

Dust explosion: Not applicable as the substance is a liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N
