Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove person to fresh air. If not breathing, give
artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, get
immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at
least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Immediately wash skin with soap and large amounts of water.
Remove contaminated clothing. If signs/symptoms occur, call
a physician. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse and
dispose of contaminated shoes.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Call a physician IMMEDIATELY. If swallowed, induce vomiting
immediately if directed by medical personnel. Never give
anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, CO2 and dry chemical foam.
Product arising from burning: No thermal decomposition or combustion studies have been
performed. Hydrogen fluoride and carbon oxides are expected
as combustion products.

Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing, including helmet,
self-contained, positive pressure demand breathing
apparatus, bunker coat and pants, bands around arms, waist
and legs, face mask, and protective covering for exposed
areas of the head.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect material and place in a container.
Use proper protective equipement, including safety goggles,
gloves and apron.
Dispose by incineration in an approved incinerator.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid eye and skin contact.
Wear suitable protective gloves (recommended: butyl rubber
neoprene) and eye protection (recommended: vented goggles)
and apron coveralls.
Use appropriate local exhaust ventilation
Storage: Keep container closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The preparation (20 - 25% solution) is imported in steel
drums of 100 or 200 liter.
The end products (fluoroelastomers) containing the substance
are packaged in polyethylene bags placed in cardboard boxes.
