Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air, rest, half upright position, loosen

clothing. Oxygen of artificial respiration if there is

difficulty in breathing. Seek medical advice after

significant exposure.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Eyelids should be

held away from the eyeball to ensure thorough rinsing. Seek

medical advice if irritation develops.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash of with

plenty of soap and water. Seek medical advice if irritation

develops. Launder clothes before re-use.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting because of risk of aspiration. Seek

medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Waterspray, foam, fire-extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide.

Extinguish a small fire with powder or carbon dioxide then

apply water to prevent re-ignition.

Product arising from burning: Theoretical: carbon dioxide, acetone, isobutene, isobutane,

2,4,4-trimethyl-2-pentanol, 2,2-dimethylpropane

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Wear suitable protective clothing. Wear self-contained

breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect as much as possible in a clean container for

(preferably) re-use of disposal. No not empty into drains.

No sparking tools should be used. Waste should not be

confined. Absorb the remainder with e.g. vermiculite.

Dispose of according local/national regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling: Never weigh out in the storage room. Keep product and

emptied container away from heat and sources of ignition. No

sparking tools should be used. Avoid shock and friction.

Confinement must be avoided. Do not pipet by mouth. Do not

inhale.

Storage: Keep away from reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, alkalis

and heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators, driers, metal

soaps). Store in accordance with local/national

regulations.  Store in a dry, well ventilated place and away

from sources  of heat and direct sunlight. Keep at

temperature not  exceeding -15degC. Avoid temperatures below

-25degC. Keep  container upright to prevent leakage.

Confinement must be  avoided.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 30 Liter High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) container.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: A dangerous self-accelerating decomposition reaction and,

under certain circumstances, explosion or fire can be caused

by direct contact with incompatible substances or by

thermal  decomposition at and above 20degC. The SADT (Self

Accelerating Decomposition Temperature) is an experimentally

derived temperature at which a typical package will undergo

self accelerating decomposition. The SADT of the notified

chemical is 20degC.

Dust explosion: Not applicable, liquid.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The notified chemical is completely reacted during its use

in PVC or LDPE production. Recovery/recycling is therefore

not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Do not empty into drains. Do not confine.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Controlled incineration according to local/national

regulations. The waste should not be confined. No sparking

tools should be used. Absorb the remainder with e.g.

vermiculite. Before burning dilute with organic solvents.

Controllled incineration according to local regulations is

always preferred. However, if not possible burn in small

portions on a remote place, using a long rod with a torch to

ignite the material.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not relevant. The notified substance as such is not used by

the public at large.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: See 6.2.10

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: See 6.2.10

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: See 6.2.10

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: See 6.2.10

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: See 6.2.10
