First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Seek immediate medical attention.  Remove the affectd person

to fresh air.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with copious amounts of water and seek

medical advice.  Continue flushing with water until medical

help arrives.

Emergency measure - Skin: Seek immediate medical attention.  Remove contaminated

clothing immediately and wipe affected skin with a dry

cloth.  Wash affected area with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Give plenty of water to drink.  Seek immediate medical

attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder

Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide, oxides of nitrogen, hydrogen fluoride,

hydrogen chloride

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing including self-contained breathing

apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate the spillage and evacuate all personnel.  Isolate

all sources of ignition and sparks.  Do not allow discharege

to enter public waterways or sewer systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: All workers wear chemical resistant gloves, impervious

clothing, goggles and a chemical cartridge respirator with

an organic vapour cartridge.

Storage: The test substance should be stored in a cool place in a

tightly sealed container.  Avoid strong acids and oxidising

agents.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene-lined 200 litre steel drums.

the quality has not been adversely affected.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Prefered method of disposal.  HCl, HF or NOx gases may be

generated and incinerators must be fitted with appropriate

scrubbers.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable - the substance as such does not enter the

public domain.
