First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with plenty of water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water. Relaunder
contaminated clothing before re-use. If irritation develops,
seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical powder may
be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and
nitrogen, together with iodine containing compounds and some
soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1.

Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Avoid dust
formation by damping down with water. Absorb spillages of
solutions with a suitable inert material (eg sand or soil).
Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled waste
containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine, for
disposal in accordance with local regulations. Wash spill
site with water and detergent.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled in conditions of good
industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local
regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Gloves (prEN374), goggles
(prEN166), a dust mask (EN149 FFP1) and protective clothing
(EN368) should be worn if exposure can not be prevented
using engineering controls.

Storage: Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry,
well-ventilated place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Plastic bottle in cardboard box.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not feasible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with
inert material may be disposed of by landfill in accordance
with local regulations (A650).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and hydrogen iodide
should be fitted (A661).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable, the substance will be incorporated into
articles and recovery from articles is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.
