Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash immediately with plenty of water. If irritation

develops, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. If irritation develops, seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water spray, dry powder or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with metal oxide smoke.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1)

Sweep up spill avoiding dust generation and transfer to

labelled containers. Dispose of by incineration in

accordance with local regulations . Wash spill site with

water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Ensure adequate ventilation. Safety glasses/eye protection

and rubber gloves should be worn.  Use local exhaust

ventilation or wear an approved dust respirator.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers away from sources of

ignition and oxidising materials.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealed polyethylene-lined fibre containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas

treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen, sulfur and metal

oxides should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Computer modelling programme predicts 76% removal in water

purification plants, predominantly by adsorption to biomass.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will only enter the public domain incorporated

into photographic articles.  Recovery from articles is not

feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable, no known hazardous properties.
