Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air.  Get medical attention if

symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water.  Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water.  Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for adjacent fire.

Product arising from burning: Fire or excessive heat may produce hazardous decomposition

products (oxides of nitrogen and oxides of sulphur).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Hazchem code 2Z.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put in a suitable container.  Avoid

generation of dust.  Clean surface thoroughly to remove

residual contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust.  Avoid

contact with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with

skin.  Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).

Wear impervious gloves and protective clothing appropriate

for the risk of exposure.  Use with adequate ventilation. In

case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory

equipment.  Wash thoroughly after handling.

Storage: Keep away from heat.  Powdered material may form explosive

dust-air mixtures.  Minimize dust generation and

accumulation.  Use only in well ventilated areas.  Keep away

from sources of ignition.  Keep from contact with oxidizing

materials.  Cool conditions (5 - 30 degrees C).  Keep

container closed.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Sealed, poly-lined fiber containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Fire or high temperatures (> 230 degrees C) may cause

decomposition.

Chemical reaction with water: Not hazardous.  Experience in use and structure activity

relationships indicate that the test substance is not

hazardous in contact with water or humid air.

Dust explosion: Powdered material may form explosive dust-air mixtures.

Minimize dust generation and accumulation.  Use only in well

ventilated areas.  Keep away from sources of ignition.  Keep

from contact with oxidizing materials.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substnce.  Combustion will produce oxides of

nitrogen and oxides of sulphur.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Given the following estimates, log Kow 1.5, log Henry's Law

Constant <1, and readily biodegradable (10-day criterion not

fulfilled), the computer model (SIMPLETREAT) program

predicts 76% removal in water purification plants.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.
