Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and wash exposed area with

copious amounts of soap and water. If irritation develops,

seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, foam or dry chemical may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,

nitrogen and sulfur together with hydrogen bromide, hydrogen

cyanide and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full personal protective clothing and a self-contained

breathing apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Avoid dust formation. Isolate spill and sweep up or use

industrial vacuum with suitable dust filtration system.

Transfer spillage to clearly labelled containers and dispose

of at a landfill site or by incineration in accordance with

local regulations. Wash spill site with water, directing

washings to an on-site waste water treatment system.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid dust formation. Avoid ingestion, inhalation and skin

and eye contact. Impervious gloves, goggles with sideshields

(BS2092 or PrEN166), personal protective equipment (standard

EN368) and a self-contained breathing apparatus (EN149)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of solutions mixed with

inert material (eg. sand) may be disposed of by landfill at

an authorised tip in accordance with local

regulations.(A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method of disposal at a suitable facility. Waste

gas treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and sulfur

together with hydrogen bromide and hydrogen cyanide gas

should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
