Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek immediate medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15

minutes. Seek immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if

blistering occurs.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder may be used. Water is

unsuitable.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus

should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Absorb spill using a suitable, inert material (eg. sand or

soil). Transfer to labelled containers or use a sealed

industrial vacuum. Dispose of at a landfill site or by

incineration in accordance with local regulations. Do not

allow spill to enter drains or water courses. Inform local

authorities if contamination does occur. Wash spill site

with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation

and skin and eye contact. Nitrile rubber gloves and safety

goggles should be worn. If there is a risk of high vapour

concentration a self-contained respirator (EN405  FFK1) is

recommended.

Storage: Store in a cool dry place, in tightly closed 200 litre steel

containers. Keep away from sources of ignition, oxidising

agents or strong mineral acids.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 litre steel containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages is not technically feasible

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance can be disposed of at a suitable landfill

site. (A650)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration at a

suitable facility.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: If accidental discharge should occur the substance is not

likely to have adverse effects on sewage treatment systems.

Otherwise, the substance should not enter sewage systems

especiall as it is volatile and flammable,

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance itself will not enter the public domain.
