Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Cases of respiratory sensitization have been observed with

reactive dyes and care should be taken to avoid inhalation.

Should an individual become sensitized, a physician should

be consulted and all contact with reactive dyes must cease

immediately.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash contaminated areas of the body with plenty of running

water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water mist, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder can be used

as extinguishing agents.

Product arising from burning: Products of decomposition may contain carbondioxide,

-monoxide, nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen

bromide or the respective sodium salts.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Self-contained breathing apparatus can be used, or usual

respiratory protection equipment for fire-fighters.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: For powder: Collect up and put in controlled discharge or

incinerate in an authorised installation

For liquids: Soak up on absorbent material and incinerate or

dispose of at controlled site.

Handling and storage

Handling: Minimize exposure by use of standard occupational hygiene

procedures and good housekeeping: eye/face protection, head

covering and gloves should be used. Avoid inhalation.

Weighing to be in an enclosed ventilated area and on low

level scales for ease of handling.

Avoid dust formation and wear dust mask, e.g. BNS.

Storage: No special precautions. Keep containers always closed.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: None.

Chemical reaction with water: No critical reaction; the reactive groups of the substance

may slowly hydrolize in aqueous systems.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: After application on the textiles the substance is  fast

fixed on the fibres and part of it-a recovery is not pos-

sible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not possible, substance is a sodium salt of (a) sulfonic

acid groups (group).

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Without any problems

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Without any problems

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance is not biodegradable and in the aqueous medium

completely hydrolized referring to the reactive group and

the treatment in the dyebath
