First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 10

minutes. If irritation develops, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

dioxide and dry powder may be used.

contain oxides of carbon, nitrogen and sulfur together with

hydrogen chloride gas and some soot.

self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage and remove personnel from the affected

area. Wear suitable protective equipment (see 2.3.1). Avoid

dust formation by damping down with water. Absorb spill

using a suitable inert material and transfer to waste

containers using an industrial vacuum machine. Dispose of

at a landfill site or by incineration in accordance with

local regulations. Wash the spill site with detergent and

plenty of water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions when handling organic

chemicals. Ensure adequate ventilation. Protective

clothing, safety goggles (conforming to BS2092:2 or

BS2092:1C,D) and gloves should be worn, together with

protective footwear (conforming to BS1870 part 1). A

disposable dust mask (prEN 149, Grade 2) is also

recommended.

Storage: Store in tightly closed, corrosion resistant containers.
